Newport Road Caldicot (Old Monarch Road)

M & J Cosgrove agreed a package deal where the land was purchased and a ‘turn key’ package agreed with Fairlake Properties (now Pobl Housing Association Ltd) to deliver 33 retirement apartments. The works included obtaining detailed planning consent, agreeing the contract and developing the apartments to a high standard including high quality bathrooms, kitchens and internal fittings.

The site offered many challenges as it was on the corner of a busy road in the middle of a residential area; strict protocols had to be followed regarding traffic management and crane usage.

The scheme was constructed in timber frame with masonry external skin and a single ply membrane flat roof and slate sloping elements. Code for Sustainable homes level 3+ was attained and the project completed in January 2012.
